MORROW, Ga. – USC Aiken’s Gregory Andrade and Juan Xavier Ponce were chosen to the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Men’s Tennis All-Conference team on Saturday morning during a banquet at the site of the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Championship.
Ranked seventh nationally, Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Sergio D’Amorim) and Ponce (Miami, Fla. /Drury University) were chosen to the first team as a doubles tandem. Ponce was also selected to the singles second team.
As a duo, Andrade and Ponce are currently 17-5 on the 2010 season. They were 7-2 in Peach Belt Conference action. The tandem has won 13 of their last 15 matches overall, which included an 11-match winning streak. Andrade and Ponce have played all of their matches at No. 1 doubles.
In singles, Ponce was a team-best 14-6 in singles in the 2010 campaign. He was 5-4 in PBC action. Ranked 16th regionally, Ponce played mainly at No. 2 singles over the course of the season. He was 13-4 at No. 2 singles and a perfect 1-2 at No. 1 singles.
