Entering Sunday the Pacers had outscored its first three opponents of the week by a combined score of 56-18. In their game against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey on Sunday afternoon the Pacers could not muster that type of offense for the first four innings.

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Pacers finally got on the scoreboard. Bill Rice sent Tyler Powell's pitch over the right centerfield fence for a 2 run home run.  Rice's home run gave the pacers a 2-1 lead. Two batters later the Pacers would stretch their lead when Travis Howard singled bringing in Nick Aranas.

The Pacers two run lead was short lived, as the Crusaders were able to bring in 2 runs of their own in the top of the sixth inning. The two runs by Belmont Abbey came as a result of Danny Brion being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and a sacrifice fly. Belmont Abby took the lead back in the top of the eighth. Pinch hitter Matt Mazzolla hit a single up the middle to bring Gabby Amor home.

The Pacers tied the game up on a Matt Key single in the bottom of the eighth inning. Key then stole second and was one of the two runs to cross the plate when Stephen Carmon doubled to right field.
