Despite an early offensive struggle, the USC Aiken women's basketball team rallied back to garner the victory over the Bobcats. With the win, the Pacers improve to 21-4 (13-2 PBC) while the Bobcats are now 15-6 (7-6 PBC).
A three point deficit at the half instilled a sense of urgency in which the Pacer's defense could account for. Coming out of intermission down 21-24 the team held the Bobcats to just 20 percent shooting in the second half. Star freshman Kayla Harris gave the Pacers their first points of the second period which did not come until nearly eight minutes into play.
With 2:32 remaining in regulation, a three point basket by sophomore guard Daniela Tarialo gave the Pacers a two point lead over the Bobcats. Senior forward Deandra Schirmer would hit two free throws with a 1:33 left to put the team up by four. The Bobcats were forced to foul senior guard Triahna Harris with just three seconds remaining in the game. Harris converted on 1 of 2 which was enough to capture the win over the Bobcats with a final score 46-43.
