Behavior At Parties

The sole purpose of a college party is for the partygoers, typically college students, to have a great time in this setting.  People tend to invite friends who may not attend the college as a way to have fun with both their friends on and off campus.  However, I believe the student organizations should be stricter as to who is allowed at open events and parties such as those thrown by the Greek groups.

As someone who has grown up in the Aiken County area, I am pretty familiar with what typically goes down and what has already happened around the county as a whole.  I understand it would be rather difficult to sift through the long lines of partygoers to make sure that they attend the university, and it would definitely have an impact on the income at the door.  I believe that any homecoming party should not be ended abruptly because of the disorderly conduct of an outside individual.

Students view events of the sort as way to relax and blow off some steam from a stressful semester instead of worrying about unknown individuals attending the party who have probably been published in past issues of the city's Jail Report.

Though there is nothing wrong with hosting a party for both USC Aiken students and members of the community, people who do not attend the school should be accompanied by the school's students similar to past events I have attended in the past.

To ensure our student body's safety at these events, I believe regulations should be stricter in order for annual festivities such as homecoming can be celebrated to the fullest without having to come to an end because of other people's misconduct and ignorance.
