Accomplishments of USC Aiken's own faculty member

In the 1970's a child was born and no one knew what things she would accomplish. North Augusta High School's Hall of Famer, Stacie Williams, is now a faculty member of the University of South Carolina Aiken. She is the Director of Intercultural Programs for the university; she has been employed since fall 2004 and has created many thriving programs for her office. Williams is the advisor for the Compass, diversity training, and Minority Achievement Program.

The Belvedere native received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Winthrop University, and a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Auburn University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in education at the University of South Carolina.

Williams has not halted in her endeavors to achieve in multiple areas .She has also served in community leadership roles such the Board of Directors for the Aiken Family Y and the Rock Hill Red Cross Association. She is an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC, and a graduate chapter member of the Iota Lambda Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

While her educational background is impressive, Williams has a wild side that few people are aware of.  Williams has recently taken up motorcycle riding, and done a mock Marine Core training for the thrill of it. She is also a pianist and creative sewer. William's has a belief in the responsibility to empower and support others in reaching their full potential and has committed to doing this through civic engagement and employment opportunities.
