The citizens of Aiken will now have a new dining option, as Five Guys Burgers and Fries will be opening a restaurant on Aiken’s south side.

The restaurant will be located on Whiskey Road in the building that used to house Shoney’s until it recently closed. The restaurant will share the building with Einstein Bros. Bagel restaurant as well.

The Five Guys burger chain has been around for 24 years. Early on the restaurant could only be found in the Virginia and DC metro-area.

The company started expanding to the rest of the country in 2003. Since 2003 Five Guys has opened over 550 locations. These locations can be found in 35 states across America. Five Guys prides itself on not being like other burger chains. Only fresh ground beef is used when making burgers at the restaurant. Unlike many of the fast food burger chains Five Guys doesn’t use frozen products.
