Recording artist Prince made a generation donation of $250k to a nonprofit group with goals to help the children in an Eau Claire neighborhood to finish college. Prince's drummer and native of the Columbia area, John Blackwell Jr., presented the donation last week.

Eau Claire Promise Zone is a burgeoning preschool and neighborhood enrichment program modeled on the Harlem's Children's zone, a group Prince has also donated to before. This program provides tutoring, counseling, and much more to help the children of the neighborhood.

Prince is well none for his over the top rock performances and his famous movies such as Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge.

Prince and his group has performed in several cites in South Carolina last month and plans to continue his tour this year.
